Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this only for women?
These hikes are designed to support women who want to challenge themselves in the outdoors, often for the first time. A women-only environment helps remove barriers, build confidence, and create a supportive group dynamic that allows everyone to focus on the experience rather than comparison or competition.
Do I need to be super fit to join a hike?
No. Each hike is graded (easy, moderate, or challenging) so you can choose a walk that matches your fitness and experience.

What gear do I need to bring?
You’ll need to bring your own personal hiking gear including your backpack, sleeping system, clothing and other essentials for spending time in the outdoors.
I’ve created a complete gear checklist to make packing simple and ensure you have everything you need.
If you’re new to overnight hiking, the gear list will guide you through exactly what to bring and what you can leave at home.
What if I don’t have all the gear?
No problem! The gear list is a guide to help you prepare. If you don’t own something, I’m happy to recommend options or connect you with a trusted hire company.
What food will we eat?
Adventure requires fuel - and you’ll be well looked after.
All meals are designed to be simple, nourishing and perfect for life on the trail, giving you the energy you need to hike, explore and recover after a big day outdoors.
Expect things like:
· Hearty dehydrated dinners (a range of tasty options) that turn into a hot meal after a long day on the trail
· Warm drinks like tea and coffee around camp
· Trail snacks to keep your energy up during the day
· Wraps with fillings like tuna or beans for easy, satisfying lunches
· Porridge or cereal to start the morning with steady energy
There’s something special about food in the outdoors - after a big day hiking, even the simplest meal tastes incredible when you’re sitting under the trees with your new trail friends.
What food should I bring?
All your food is provided based on your menu selections. You will be provided lightweight, easy-to-carry food that fuels your body. If there is something not available on the menu selection to suit your dietary requirements, please reach out.
Can I bring alcohol?
Yes - you’re welcome to bring alcohol if you’d like to enjoy a drink around camp.
Just keep in mind that everything you bring in, you’ll need to carry in and carry out. There are no eskies or refrigeration out in the bush, so drinks will be at ambient temperature.
A small treat at the end of a big hiking day can be lovely - but remember, we’re here for the adventure. Keep it sensible so you can still enjoy the hike the next day.
What happens if the weather is bad?
There is no such thing as bad weather – only bad clothing! There is nothing like lying in your tent listening to the rain outside. However, safety is top priority. I will monitor conditions and may adjust the route, reschedule, or cancel if needed. I will always communicate changes as early as possible. There is always a backup route provided for every hike that can be a last-minute route change.

Are we bush bashing?
No, we are following existing trails. Although remote, there is no need for bush bashing!

What if I’ve never camped or hiked overnight before?
That’s exactly what this is for! I will guide you through the experience step by step, from setting up camp to using your gear.

Is there mobile phone reception on the trail?
Reception can be limited or unavailable in some areas. I carry emergency equipment (like an EPIRB/PLB) to ensure safety but be prepared to be out of range with no phone.

What happens in an emergency?
I am trained in wilderness first aid and will carry a first aid kit, communication device, and emergency beacon.
Do you provide transport to and from the trail?
You are expected to get your own transport to the starting point of the hike. Should the hike be a point-to-point route rather than a loop, I will arrange transport back to the start

Can I bring a friend or family member?
Yes, as long as they register for the hike and meet the basic requirements. Hiking is even more fun when shared! There is a maximum of 3 guests per hike.
